为深入学习贯彻党的二十大精神，加强学生党员的党性修养，在思想上政治上行动上坚定不移地同党中央保持高度一致，现以党史学习教育为契机，外国语学院学生党支部开展“党史三十秒”系列活动，从而更好地让学生党员们做到学史明理、学史增信、学史崇德、学史力行。
第四期的主题为“方志敏——用生命捍卫信仰”。负责本期的小组成员有：19英语一班夏楚婷，19英语二班陈风勤。
1935年1月29日，时任红十军团军政委员会主席的方志敏，在率红十军团北上抗日途中被俘。在狱中，面对敌人的百般诱降和严刑逼供，他正气凛然，坚贞不屈，断然表示：宁为玉碎，不为瓦全，为革命而死，虽死犹荣！在极端艰苦的条件下，他用自己的心血写下了《可爱的中国》、《清贫》、《狱中纪实》等著名篇章。习近平总书记曾这样评价道，“我多次读方志敏烈士在狱中写下的《清贫》。那里面表达了老一辈共产党人的爱和憎，回答了什么是真正的穷和富，什么是人生最大的快乐，什么是革命者的伟大信仰，人到底怎样活着才有价值。”
On January 29, 1935, Fang Zhimin, then chairman of the Military and Political Committee of the Tenth Army Regiment, was captured while leading the Tenth Army Regiment to the north to resist Japanese aggression. In prison, in the face of the enemy's seduction and torture, he was upright and unyielding, and flatly stated: It would be better to die for the revolution than to die for it! Under extremely difficult conditions, he wrote famous chapters such as Lovely China, Poverty, and Prison Records with his painstaking efforts. Our national leader Xi Jinping once appraised him: “I have read Fang’s Poverty for many times, it expresses the love and hate of the older generation of Communists, answers what is really rich and poor, what is the greatest joy of life, what is the great faith of revolutionaries, and how one can live worth living.”
1935年1月，方志敏率领部队北上抗日，在皖浙赣交界处的一次突围战中，寡不敌众、不幸被捕。被捕那天，搜捕到方志敏的两个国民党士兵并不急着回去邀功，凭着多年在国军中混事儿的经验，他们认定方志敏身上一定藏着不少金银财宝。可是从棉袄领子到袜底翻了个遍，他们只找到一块表和一只钢笔。心有不甘之下，一个士兵拿着手榴弹，做出要拉出引线抛掷的姿势，威吓到：“赶快把钱拿出来，不然就是一枚炸弹。”
In January 1935, Fang Zhimin led troops northward to fight against the Japanese invaders. But at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Provinces, his troops encountered Kuomintang forces. Fang Zhimin failed to break through the encirclement as his men were far outnumbered by the enemy. When Fang Zhimin fell into the hands of two Kuomintang soldiers, he was expected to be carrying quite a few possessions. The two soldiers searched him from head to toe, but found nothing except for a watch and a pen. They could not believe their eyes and one soldier even threatened to pull a hand grenade at Fang Zhimin if he didn't hand in all his money.
“想从我这里发洋财，是想错了。”在狱中写成的名篇《清贫》中，方志敏用戏谑讥讽的语气描述了当时的情景：”是不是还要问问我家里有没有一些财产？有的有的。去年暑天我穿的几套旧的汗褂裤，与几双缝上底的线袜，放在深山坞里保藏着，准备今年暑天拿出来再穿，那些就算是我唯一的财产了。对这两名“怀疑而又惊异”的士兵，方志敏淡淡的说：“我们革命不是为着发财的。”
It's completely wrong to ever attempt to make a fortune out of me. Fang Zhimin described the scene in a satirical tone in his famous writing Poverty which was composed in prison. “If you ask whether I own some property at home, the answer is yes. Last summer I stored in the mountain col several pieces of worn-out shirts and a few patched socks. These are all the property I possess. In response to the two suspicious and astonished soldiers, Fang Zhimin said calmly, We rise and fight not for a quick buck.
狱中的方志敏一次又一次地做着相同的选择题：为救国而死，抑或苟且而生。黑暗和腐朽一次又一次地把生的希望塞到他的手里，而他心中的光明和道义则始终把死的荣耀揽于怀中。方志敏狱中写道：”敌人只能砍下我们的头颅，决不能动摇我们的信仰！因为我们信仰的主义，乃是宇宙的真理！为着共产主义牺牲，为着苏维埃流血，那是我们十分情愿的啊！”
In prison, Fang Zhimin made the same choice between two options again and again: to die for the country or to live as a betrayer. He chose to die without hesitation. Fang Zhimin wrote: The enemy can only cut off our heads, never shake our faith! For the doctrine we believe in is the truth of the universe! To die for Communism, to bleed for the Soviets, that is what we are so willing to do!
受难前，他用炽热的情感写下慷慨檄文《可爱的中国》，号召国人“从崩溃毁灭中，救出中国来”，他用敌人劝降的纸笔写下了一个共产党人对信仰的忠诚与执着，他用纸和笔把光明射向外面的黑暗世界，照亮未来之路，也给我们留下了一笔极其宝贵的精神财富。
Before he was executed, Fang Zhimin wrote Lovely China with all his passion, calling on all the Chinese to rise from desperation and rescue the country, which expressed a communist's unswerving loyalty to his commitment and from then on remained as an invaluable spiritual legacy for the whole nation.
他曾展望：“我相信，到那时欢歌将代替了悲叹，笑脸将代替了哭脸，富裕将代替了贫穷，健康将代替了疾苦，智慧将代替了愚昧，友爱将代替了仇杀，生之快乐将代替了死之悲哀，明媚的花园将代替了凄凉的荒地！”如今，方志敏的热切期望已变成现实，这可爱的中国，如他所愿。
In his writing, Fang Zhimin looked into the future, I believe that one day, people in China will sing instead of moaning, smile instead of weeping, rise from poverty to wealth, from sickness to health, support each other instead of killing and revenging, enjoy the happiness of living instead of grieving over the sorrow of death, and finally we will see bright beautiful gardens replace dreary wastelands! Now, the ardent aspiration of Fang Zhimin has become reality. China is now truly a country as lovely as he aspired for.
我们在时代中展望未来，却不能忘记回顾过去。我们始终呼吁弘扬英雄精神，我们也应该向那些为民族大义而献身的女性前辈致以崇高的敬意。作为新时代的青年，我们应该传承、弘扬英雄精神，在实践中不断践行英雄精神，为社会发展增光添彩！铿锵玫瑰，竞展芳华，国家前行充满动力，社会发展更具活力。每一位普通女性的人生出彩与梦想成真，终将汇聚成时代前进的大江大河、奔涌推动社会进步的强大力量。
We look forward to the future in The Times, but we must not forget to look back. We always call for the promotion of heroic spirit, and we should also pay high respect to those female predecessors who sacrificed their lives for the great cause of the nation. As the youth of the new era, we should inherit and carry forward the heroic spirit, and practice it constantly in practice, so as to add luster to social development. 青山埋忠骨，英名万古传。正是有无数像方志敏烈士这样民族英雄，才换来了民族的解放、国家的独立。通过学习方志敏先烈的英雄事迹，外国语学院学生党支部学生党员纷纷表示要从方志敏等革命先驱的事迹中汲取信仰的力量，弘扬好“爱国、清贫、奉献、创造”为主要内核的方志敏精神，传承红色基因，敢于担当、把个人的理想追求与中国梦紧密相连，在激情奋斗中绽放更璀璨的青春光芒。
